Lizzie and David’s Devonshire Wedding

Lizzie and David got married.  It was a lovely afternoon and I was happy to be asked to make the cakes for their wonderful day.  I made a selection of ginger, lemon and carrot cakes which were all decorated in oranges and greens the colours of the wedding.

I took all my cake stands with me to Devon, my food mixer and all my sugarpaste bits and pieces filling the car to the brim to make a country fair style display at the village hall.  The beautiful village of Stokeinteignhead was a great venue and perfect setting for the wedding party.

After a short while I had been nicknamed the ‘cake lady’ and guests were really happily digging into the display. It was really good experience to practice making 120 cakes and two larger cakes and I do need to get better at the fondant finishing on the big cakes!

Congratulations Lizzie and David and thank you for inviting us to be part of your wedding.
