Hettie’s 6th Birthday party cake

I’ve just discovered that these kids are getting two cakes each year. That’s just ridiculous. But in the meantime, I’ll share with you Hettie’s Merida from Brave cake. And biscuits. Because I’m a good mother really.

Jenny’s mum loves birds

I loved doing this cake in December 2012. It was a lovely commission for a wonderful lady with a passion for birds. I got to paint on sugarpaste, which I love doing. More photos to come shortly, but here’s one for now.

Hettie’s 6th birthday cake

Well, we’re just speeding through 2012 (I’m sure there were more cakes than this) and we’re up to December 2012 and Hettie’s Northumbrian/German birthday cake. Every year she and Sarah normally share half a special ring cake each but this year Sarah didn’t get hers as I was too ill to make it. Sorry Sarah. So Hettie got a whole one to herself. Although Sarah ate most of it.

Millie’s 7th Birthday party cake (mine)

So that we are just clear who is the baker extra ordinaire in the family I pulled out all the stops for Mille’s animal party (cute furry pets) and created a fairy land tree with animals and all sorts. The tree had a rather large nose.

Phil decided to don the apron and take on the cake baking challenge in September 2012. He does it every now and then for comedy value. This one actually was really rather nice.

Something to do with sport

In July and August something called the Olympics happened. No cakes were made during the Olympics, they’re not an Olympic recognised sport yet. YET, I might add, YET….watch this space.

Jake’s a penguin

Whizzing on into May 2012, Jake was the proud owner of a penguin cake. He’d been to London zoo and fed the penguins as his birthday treat. But, the best bit is, he never even liked penguins before! We all laughed.
